“James Wilton” Blackmon III is a music industry professional. He was born deaf in one ear with a lifetime of hearing problems in his good ear. Defying odds, James decided to pursue music as a career path. James first gained his interest in music at the age of 3 when his grandmother gave him a toy piano.
He was raised off his father’s music collection which consist of various genres including Motown/soul/rnb, jazz, doo-wop, southern gospel, and big band. James is also a musical/broadway fanatic thanks to his oldest sister and professional vocal coach Jaminda Blackmon. James also known as Jaydabe (jay-duh-be) was a songwriter/producer for discontinued record label TymeCode Recordz with former reggae superstar label mate Richard “Richie Loop” Webb which was affiliated with Jamaican based label Bigyard Records/Scikron Entertainment.
As of January 1st, 2017, James was truly saved when he went to his church’s Immanuel Missionary Baptist church (New Haven Connecticut) watch night service. On June 4th 2017, James released his first single titled “Here I Am” which is currently in rotation on various radio stations across the country, and available for download everywhere. James will always have free options to listen to his music because he truly believes it’s the message that matters most.
